Astronomer and astrophotographer Michael Rymer leads a hands-on workshop exploring techniques for capturing stars, constellations, and the Milky Way using your smartphone. Learn how to work with low light and transform the night sky into striking images.

Meeting Location: Meet at the RIX Centre for Ocean Discoveries at BMSC.
Event Details: Spend the morning exploring beautiful Brady’s beach. After meeting at BMSC, the group will take a quick boat ride across to the West Side of Bamfield and walk to Brady’s Beach (about 20 minutes to reach the beach.
Please Note: There are significant hills on the walk to and from the beach.

Step inside an immersive mobile dome where the night sky comes alive through projection and Indigenous star knowledge.
Guided by Cree Knowledge Keeper George Desjarlais, this one-hour experience blends astronomy with traditional teachings that reveal how generations have understood and navigated the stars.
Showtimes are 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free, subject to capacity.
